It was supposed to be fun.
A mutual use of each other's bodies.
To be a ruse to the world around us.

I wanted to be free from my ex, and he wanted to escape his.
One drunken night turned a joke into a life-changing moment.
He warned me not to fall for him, and I should've listened.

He intoxicated me.
He made me crave him.
He ruined me.
In the end, I'll never be the same.

“Don’t fall for me, Nikki-it will only end badly.”
“Maybe you should be worried about falling for me, Shane.”

Drunk on You is book 4 in the Hope Town series and is a spin off the Corps Security series where we finally get Shane and Nikki’s story!!! If you haven’t read the other books in either series, you can still read it and not feel lost but I would still recommend checking both series out as I’ve loved them. But, back to Nikki and Shane’s story.

Nikki and Shane were a joy to read. If you’ve read  “When I am with you” , Nikki is Ember’s best friend and Shane is Nate’s best friend, who work together at Dirty Dog, a very sexy bar that I wish was real. Nikki, trying to get her life together after her cheating ex hurt her sees sexy Shane and the two come up with a plan to fulfill each other’s desire without having anything serious between them. But after one, and no word from Nikki, Shane realizes that one night wasn’t enough and they could solve more problems then just scratching an itch. Nikki and Shane are both going through similar problems with very clingy exes who can’t to seem to understand that the relationship is over. Their plan: pretend to be a couple and not let anyone know. When feelings begin to stir and love is on the line, will two people who have been hurt before ever be able to trust again?

Swoon. Shane. Yummy, irresistible, dirty, Shane who is scared of being hurt and doesn’t know how to trust. HOT! I love reading Harper’s books because her characters are just so vivid and I always finish the books prepped for the next one. I was hooked from the get go. Nikki is quirky and likable, giving and cute. I loved the nicknames she kept throwing at him and I can picture Shane looking at her like “no, woman.” And the French. Oh my yes. Why don’t more guys speak French because it was just hot and I melted along with Nikki.

“She’s thrown me for a loop, for sure, and I’m not sure what to do about it.
Do I want her? Fuck, yeah.
Do I think I could walk away tomorrow? Fuck, no.”

Would I recommend? Most def. Grab this up ASAP.
