I'm kind of a lady, but definitely more of a weirdo.
Hearing the woman at the table behind him say that to her friend should've turned Logan Gibbs off.
It doesn't. In all honesty, it only makes him listen harder.
He's had enough weird in his life to last a lifetime. The last thing his complicated life needs is a woman in it who has no clue what color you get when you mix yellow and blue together.
Yet, her obvious blonde moments aren't enough to deter him. Nor is her lack of finger-painting skills.
I'm a cop, not a miracle worker.
Hearing the man in the group behind her say that should've had Katy Roberts running away as fast as her feet would carry her. Katy's father's a cop, and it's hard enough to live her life with Daddy trying to dictate her every move. She needs another cop in her life like she needs yet another thing to go wrong.
To add onto that, she can't find a job, has no love life to speak of, and has to be the oldest known virgin in Kilgore, Texas.
Yet, when she sees his painting—a painting that resembles a piece of the male anatomy more than the lighthouse they were supposed to be painting—she knows that she has to give him a chance.
The very last thing the two of them expect is for her father and his boss to force them to marry after an eensy-weensy accident. An accident that, surprisingly, both of them want.

Hide Your Crazy is book one in a new spinoff series, KPD Motorcycle Patrol, by Lani Lynn Vale or how I like to think of the series, Hot Cops in Too Tight Clothing. If you’ve read any of her prior books, you know the author loves to bring back old favorites and this time we get Katy Roberts story, Luke Roberts’ daughter, and another personal favorite of mine. Who am I kidding? All the books LLV writes are favorites but if you want to read Luke’s story, check out Center Mass (Code 11 – KPD SWAT).
Can I say how much I loved Logan? No matter what anyone else thought about him or his actions, the guy has a heart of pure gold and won’t let other people’s opinion stop him from what he knows is right in his heart. Super swoon over Logan. The poor guy has not had an easy time of it. From his boss and colleagues not liking him, to an evil ex-wife, his world changes in a big way when he meets Katy.
“Katy had been chipping away at the walls I’d had erected since we’d met, and each day, each word that came out of her mouth, another small chip would find its way into my wall.”
Katy Roberts has not had an easy life. After her breakup with an abusive ex-boyfriend, even her loving family can’t stave away any nightmares that she has of her past involvement. When these two meet, they clash heads big time. Who knew illegally parking your car to run after your dog would get you a ticket from a hot cop who apparently is also her new upstairs neighbor that can’t sleep (I dubbed him Mr. Pacey).
I love how naturally these two came together. The cop that he is thru and thru, Logan gets protective of Katy when he finds he finds her sleepwalking. And the best way to keep her safe? Cuff her to him while she sleeps. What could go wrong? *wink* You know where this led to, right?
Lots of heat, lots of sweet, throw in some drama, and you have another favorite LLV read. I’m seriously addicted to everything she writes, from her dedications which are more like random thoughts, to her hilarious chapter headings. Please, never stop writing because I don’t know what I would do with myself.
“If he’s willing to give you the moon and the stars, you should be willing to sacrifice Uranus. -Text from Katy to Logan”
