There was a time when Nick loved the fear he instilled in his enemies. His tattoos alone promised danger, but it was the look in his eyes that delivered on it. A contract killer since he was just a boy, Nick has now forged a new life and a new identity with the woman who followed him, captured him, and changed him.
He terrified Daisy. Once. But she couldn't resist, and she ignored every warning. It paid off. Now she's part of a new beginning, a fresh start in America helping him to leave behind a reckless and violent past as a professional killer. But the past is never easy to outrun, especially when so much of it thrives on revenge.
A new threat has emerged from the shadows, and now Nick and Daisy have no choice but to rely on Nick's killer skills to protect them from everything they've tried so hard to escape.
“Nick, what am I going to do with you?”
“Allow me to love you. That is all I ask.” I am begging but unashamedly, for there is nothing that exists in my world that is more important than to serve her.
Sigh. May I say how much I love the Last Hit series? How, when I realized I had received an ARC of this book, I literally jumped up at down like a little kid receiving the best Christmas gift ever? Yeah, that’s exactly how I felt when I received it.
First thing to note is that this is part of the series and most definitely not a stand alone story. This is a continuation of Daisy and Nick’s story of how they are trying to be…well, let’s say normal. Daisy, the sheltered girl who fell in love with an assassin and Nick, the guy who’s talents lie in the act of killing and hiding. They are having a hard time assimilating to regular life. Both now in college and earning degrees but Daisy is still trying to figure out how to fit in and Nick just doesn’t give damn. LOL. But Daisy is despairing over the fact and Nick will do anything for her.
“Only love. Only you, Daisy. Only me. We are here, and we are together. All else is not important.”
Disaster party, dirty talking, hitman issues, hot sex, a mystery killer and a potential new character (?) made this another installment in the series that I absolutely loved. Here’s hoping for more books in this series. I would love to see a novella of Daniel and Regina too and we still need to know more about his little sister, Naomi. And may I say how much I love how sexy and dirty Nikolai is?
“With my body I love you,” I hiss through clenched teeth. I grab her hip with my fingers, using i as leverage against my fearsome thrusts. “With my flesh, I worship you.”
“Take me, then,” she whimpers, as breathless as I am.
