Poor judgment: knowing better yet doing it anyway.
Flint Stone is a professional in every way.
He’s a police officer with the K-9 unit and works at Gun Barrel High as the school resource officer. In his spare time, he’s working his heart out to create a successful gym from the ground up.
He’s loved by every single person he ever encounters—student, faculty, and employees—Everyone but Camryn Elvis Presley.
The only thing they have in common is their mothers’ poor excuses for names.
Period. The end.So why is it every time she crosses his path that he has the urge to mess up her perfectly curled hair? Or unbutton a few of her prim and proper buttons?
He knows he should stay away, yet like the high schoolers he’s around every day, he has no choice but to react first and think about the consequences later.
Side note—bad decisions are made, leading to lapses in judgment that threaten both of their jobs. Yet when the time comes, neither one can seem to find the wherewithal to care. Why? Because being bad feels so good.
Lord Have Mercy is an enemies to lovers romance and the next book in The Southern Gentleman series by Lani Lynn Vale. We first met the couple in Hissy Fit where they got along like oil and water so I knew when I finally got their book, the sparks were going to fly.
“I’ll take sweaty kisses. I’ll take sleepy kisses. I’ll even take pissed off kisses. As long as it comes from you.”
There is just something that peeves Camryn Elvis Presley whenever Officer Flint Stone enters her bubble. So when her best friend decides to join Flint’s gym and drag her along, the sarcastic banter are aplenty. There’s also plenty of heated looks that light up the room. Who wouldn’t be lusty when looking at a specimen like Flint, shirtless and sweaty while teaching a gym class? Sign me up. These two become reluctant friends when Camryn opens up to Flint about herself and the desire escalates quickly.
“Dear sweet baby Jesus. If there was a way to spontaneously combust outside of special effects in the movies, I’d have done it. Just one look was all it took for me to realize that I was in way over my head with this man.”
Brimming with heat, wit, mystery and crazy ex-girlfriend vibes, I didn’t stop reading until I got to the last page. Every Lani Lynn Vale book is just an immediate preorder/one click/must have book. The characters are so much, the banter and teasing between the two is hilarious and hot. The action is so flipping good and every book just makes me want more, and Lord Have Mercy is no exception.
