After a lifetime of longing for a real family, Sarah Smith thought she’d finally found her home with rock star Abe Bellamy, even if she knew Abe didn’t love her the way she loved him. But their brief relationship, filled with tragedy and heartache, nearly destroyed her. Alone, emotions in turmoil, and already shaky self-esteem shattered, Sarah struggles to pick up the pieces in the wake of their divorce.

Abe knows he’s to blame for the end of his marriage. Caught in a web of painful memories, he pushed away the best thing in his life – the sexy, smart woman he adores – breaking them both in the process. Then fate throws him a second chance to get things right, to prove to Sarah that she means everything to him. Abe desperately wants that second chance at love...even if he knows he doesn’t deserve it.

But can he convince Sarah – now strong and independent without him – to risk her wounded heart one more time?

This is a bittersweet end to a favorite series of mine. I fell in love with Charlotte and Gabriel’s story Rock Hard, and have followed the series since then. While the story is a stand alone, I would suggest reading the other books, especially the one before Rock Wedding since something that happens leads up to this one. Plus, I loved them so win-win. The conclusion, following Abe and Sarah’s story, is one fans have been waiting for. How do you forgive the one you love most when he has already shattered your heart?

Abe is the typical troubled rocker. Heavy on the substance abuse and temper tantrums but through it all, Sarah has been by his side. Until the day he crosses the line and Sarah has to leave him. You can only have your heart broken so many times before you have to try and pick up the pieces and move on. Years pass and Abe, having struggled for so long with his demons, is finally clean and aware of all that he’s done. Aware that he pushed away the only person who truly loved him.

After another disaster relationship, where Abe ends up saving her, (Name) and Abe meet again, but unwilling to forgive him, she walks away. Abe knows that he has to make it right between them. Little by little, he breaks down her barriers and also opens up on his own past issues. The substance abuse wasn’t just part of the rocker life style but a way to dull all the pain of his past, of the lost of his sister.

As Abe opens up, Sarah can not deny that the feelings for him have never truly disappeared and against her better judgement, opens her heart again. When the two finally reconnect, Abe will do anything in his power to protect her and make her stay. But when new obstacles are thrown in their path, will Abe once again crush Sarah’s heart?

“She had to be careful, so careful. Fear gripped her heart at the idea of falling for him again only to be rejected, to b left behind.”

Oh my heart. Abe is one of those characters that you love and feel so much sympathy for, while still fighting that desire to slap him upside the head for some of the things he does. And Sarah, sweet and vulnerable, who took a risk on Abe. I was rooting for her so hard. After losing Abe, she reevaluates her life and paves a way. Vulnerable but strong, I loved Sarah as much as Abe.

While I’m sad to see the series go, I’m excited for the new series to follow. A spin off of the Rock Series, we are finally getting to see Gabriel’s sexy rugby playing brothers. Eep!
