RTC Ottawa has come and gone but happy, giddy feelings of being surrounded by wonderful authors and readers still fill me with glee. This year, however, I decided to explore the city and celebrate the 150th anniversary of Confederation. The Jacque Cartier park was absolutely gorgeous and we were in love with the displays. I was in awe of the Parliament building and the general beauty of the city. Got some wonderful knick-knacks from the Byward Market and most importantly, maple candy.

RTC 2017 was just as incredible as always. Listening to the authors talk about where they get inspirations to write, and different methods on how they do so, and learning about world building filled me with so many ideas on how to take that next step into writing.
Of course, let’s not forget all the fun there is to have. 50 Shades of Play was probably my favorite of the events. Pinata filled with condoms that you can wack with a dildo, and dirty Pictionary? Yes, please. The book signing on Saturday was crazy! So many book lovers!
My highlight, of course, was meeting the creative and talented authors that we are all there to meet. Eve Langlais who, besides being one of my favorite paranormal authors, is the brains and brawn behind this event. She’s amazeballs. The lovely Cathryn Fox who I adore with every fiber of my being (I am her PA after all), I love her so, so much. Having dinner with Sara Hubbard, Susan Stoker, and Elle James was a book nerd goal, for sure. But my absolute, geek out moment, was meeting Darynda Jones. OMFG I am such a dork but I was totally like “I am not worthy” and she is probably the nicest person ever. And getting some behind the scenes news on her series?! ACK! Best day EVER! Yes, I am an absolute dork but this is why I run a book blog page, for god’s sakes. Where else can I be my nerdy self?
