“You gotta let me nap. I’m gonna get cranky.”

Wow. Just when I thought that this author’s books couldn’t blow me away even more, I read another one that rocks me! So if you have read any of her Bear Bottom books, you’ll know that Tara has been the bane of everyone’s existence for way too long. Especially to Rome, as he had a child with her. But no one could know that her evil ran even deeper than everything she put Rome through. A twin sister, hidden away from the world, who has suffered even more than most can imagine, in the hands of her family. That is, until Liner gets suspicious of Tara and realizes all is not what it seems.

Theodora, identical twin sister of Tara except for her blue eyes, locked away in an institution has been tormented by her family since she was a little girl. The only thing that is good and right in her world is her daughter Linnie, and Theo will do anything to keep Linnie away from her evil family. But when a mysterious guy starts asking questions about her, Theo’s world is about to unravel.

Liner is the protective type with the heart of gold (as are all of Lani Lynn Vale heroes) who knows trouble when he sees it and upon seeing Theo and her daughter knows that something is up. But while tries to help her, her family is ready to try and get rid of them. These two have an instant connection and with everything that Theo has gone through, Liner’s protectiveness is on full blast and he asks for help from friends to make sure that they are protected at all costs. Theo has suffered so much and it takes an amazing person to be able to endure so much. The heat between the two is palpable and the level of trust she has for him is seriously so sweet.

This was another action packed book, with a couple of twists I didn’t see coming. I loved Liner, Theo and Linnie and reading about Theo’s childhood makes me feel sympathy for her and everything she’s gone through to protect herself and her daughter. The gang all show up including Rome, Castiel and Hoax which always makes me happy when characters from the other books are included and we get a sneak peek of their HEA’s continuing on. I loved getting the whole plot of Tara and seeing how bad she truly is and finally having it explained in this book. Oh my God! I knew Rome was a Saint before, having to deal with this woman, but he really needs a statue in his honor. I was super hooked on the book because that was a level of crazy I did not see coming. So, so good and so can’t wait for more books by this talented author.
