When my stepbrother, Elec, came to live with us my senior year, I wasn’t prepared for how much of a jerk he’d be.
I hated that he took it out on me because he didn’t want to be here.

You know those books that you just want to hand to a person and say “Here. Read. Don’t ask questions. Just prepare to get your heart ripped out of you, torn to absolute shreds and then fucking mended. Like the best seamstress just put you back together again.” Yeah. This was it for me. So many feelings!! I keep wanting to swear because, really, holy shit! I want to go back in the past so I can read it and not know what’s going to happen. To feel everything that I just felt finishing this book. For the love of God Penelope! What have you done to me?! I want to make everyone buy this book. I just got my heart broken over and over. And then put together like the best present ever. Brava. I’m not even going to get into the plot like I usually do in my reviews. Just fucking buy this already. Read it. Feel it. Grab some super absorbent Bounty cause tissues aren’t going to cut it. And then prepare for a hangover better than ten Jell-O shots chased with a bottle of wine and 4 bottles of beer. Why are you still reading this? Go buy the book! I’m off to go stalk Penelope and find out what other gems she has in store for me. And damn Goodreads for not allowing me more than five stars.
