Freedom.
I want lots of things out of life, but this… this is what I crave most. And with a dead-end relationship in my rearview mirror and a new business ahead, that freedom is finally within reach.
Of course, fate is an evil bitch.
People I have nothing to do with expect me to settle my brother’s debt— and if I don’t pay with cash, I pay with my life. I’ll be dead very soon… but not if a certain sexy-as-sin fighter with a Prince Charming complex has a say in the matter. One who’s decided to help me out of this mess, whether I want him to or not.
I might escape all of this with my life. But I already know it won’t be so easy to hold on to my heart…
Whenever I see books where Lauren Hawkeye and Tawny Stokes team up, I do a happy dance. I loved the Other Brother so when I realized that they were going to be writing Tristan’s story, I did another happy dance. This is part one in a 3 part serial which we get Tristan and Zoe’s story and for a short novella, it packs quite a punch. Fighting, sexy guys in boxers, hot scenes, action and great writing. The book had it all.
Sexy fighter Tristan is the owner of The Pain Centre and buddy to Seth, who we meet in The Other Brother and unlike most guys, isn’t just looking for his next lay but rather a woman to be his. Can you say totally swoon worthy? When he spots gorgeous Zoe at one of his fights, he’s immediately smitten with her. She’s gorgeous, funny and sassy, with an ass made in heaven.
Zoe has always looked out for her little brother Delmar but now that he’s grown up, he can’t stop getting into trouble or running to his sister for help. When Zoe goes to pick him up from another one of his escapades, she meets Tristan and while intrigued, sasses him and walks away. It isn’t until she tries to find Delmar a second time that Tristan convinces her to go out on a date with him and the sparks really fly. These two are smoking together and Tristan knows how to treat a lady. Yum. All hell breaks loose when Delmar gets himself into a situation that places all of them in danger. I can not wait for the next installment in the series.
